Scratched Disc: July 7th

by Chris Eaton

After a hiatus of a few weeks, Im back with the DVD releases I feel are WORTH YOUR TIME!  So what are you waiting for, get reading!
Knowing:

Knowing

Director Alex Proyas directed 2 of what I feel are modern classics in THE CROW and DARK CITY.  His last few films have been SoSo at best.  But I can say with great Ease that Knowing, while not perfect, is a step back in the right direction.  The ending had people talking, and for good reasons.

Push:

Push

I’m surprised it took this film this long to come out!  Its a decent little comic book style affair with Chris Evans as a telekinetic in Hong Kong fighting some real nasty supers.  Some nice  effects work, and shot in Hong Kong, Push is something, unique…

MST3K vol 15:

MST3K15

If I need to explain Mystery Science Theater to you at this point, you might as well hang yourself for being ignorant!  More classics make they’re way to dvd: Set includes

Robot Vs. The Aztec Mummy, The Girl In Lovers Lane, Zombie Nightmare, and Racket Girls.

Doctor Who: Attack of the Cybermen!

DrWho

Its classic WHO!  What else could you ask for!
Near Dark Special Edition

Near Dark

Fuck that Twilight shit!  This is ten times the Vampire film that Twilight dares to be.  Actually, this film got knocked out of the BO due to it coming out near LOST BOYS, and it has a very similar story to Lost Boys.  But don’t think of it as a rip off, but more of an adult version of LB.. and still far better than Twilight…..Even though the box art is clearly ripping off Twilight, give me a burnt Bill Paxton any day.

That’s all for this week, Promise to see you next time!
