I got to play Iron Man 2 earlier and let me tell you something, it far surpasses the first game. With great freedom and some nice new gamplay it really feels like your the man behind the suit, unlike the first game where it really just felt like another one of those lackluster addapt movie games that was just cashing in on the movie franchise.
Iron man 2 actually gives you a great storyline in this one. You take on A.I.M, many comic readers should know who these bad guys are I hope so at least. Over all the game feels new. I really like the new hand to hand element to the game rather then in the first game you just fly and blow stuff up rinse and repeat. Now you can level up, upgrade and (with taking a page from god of wars and just about every other game since) “Quick-Time” events that give you a event screen whenever you rip apart a robot or tank, sear awesomeness. Another thing I liked about this new game was the strategy part. Yes now you can choose to fight by air upgrading your weapons to deal more damage from a distance or from the ground. The game also was looking to improve the variety of the overall objectives. The example shown during my time with the game a mission involved Tony having to stay within a certain radius of a area as the J.A.R.V.I.S. system deactivated something. This part was kind of hard considering things attack you for all over and you can move very far, hopefully it will be fixed.
Who’s in and who’s out, that meaning Villains? Well from what I seen so far we are getting to play as War-machine a given so far the only villain known for the game are Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo, but with the game not due till next year you never know who will be thrown into the mix. So I leave you with this the game is great so far and really I can only see it getting better, with the look and feel you actually get to be Iron Man and live the dream like you could actually afford a Billion Dollar suit Expect it sometime next year for all major platforms.
