You love them…I love them…that’s right folks ZOMBIE movies! Let’s get right to it kiddies, what zombie movies of the last few years, made your skin crawl and heart stop? I took a poll and was suprised by the answer. Without furthere a due here they are counted down from 10 to 1.
10. DAWN OF THE DEAD(REMAKE)
Ok this flick was down right good! The main reason it is not in the top 5 is due to the running time(unless you have the unrated cut which is far superior. The great cast alone make this flick re-watchable.
9.Land of The Dead
Now before you lynch me, I personally enjoyed this movie, it brought slow zombies back to the big screen, had a superb cast(who doesn’t love Dennis Hopper?) It also had political commentary all over it(just like we like with a George Romero movie).
8. 28 Weeks Later
I know it isn’t a real “Romero” style zombie film but damn, it was a bit frightening right?…right? I personally liked the back story of the virus and how the government(like always) screws up and shows the crazy side we all have in each of us.
7. 28 Days Later
This is the 1st instalment of the popular London based zombie epidemic.(there really not zombies). Many people loved this movie for the sheer briliance of how the zombie itself was portrayed. Lets just say this movie browned alot of peoples shorts.
6.Diary of The Dead
I personally dug this flick alot. The makeup effects are just plain astounding and what i liked is there practical. Hardly any C.G work was done on the film and the young actors brought a ok feel to the movie.
5. Return of The Living Dead
First off this movie is hilarious!!! I personally haven’t laughed this much at a zombie pick ever.The punk rock aspect hit home with me since I’m an old school punk myself( Ive seen Black Flag and the original Misfits). This is definably the most off the wall of all zombie picks.
4. Dawn of The Dead(Original)
Romero’s second effort in the zombie world is a masterpiece! Everything from the blue zombies,to the chicken used as human skin for the bite scenes were fantastic. Of course the political aspect of this movie is the main focus for Romero fans, but me…I LOVE THE GORE!
3. Day of The Dead
The main reason this flick is number 3 on the list is for the classic scene where the prick lieutenant gets ripped apart by zombies and his last words are…CHOKE ON UM…CHOKE ON UM!!! Damn this movie was bloody good. No one should ever question Romero on his low budget gems.
2. Shaun of The Dead
This Brits sure got zombies right! The comedy aspect just enhances the awesome story. The zombies are so subtle at first it’s hard to notice them but there all over the back round shots.The makeup is classic and the zombies are slow walking(naturally).
1. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING FILM!!! Any one who questions this is just a sad human being and needs to be eatin by zombies! The makeups crude, the dialog is classic and the ending is sheer genius!!! If you haven’t seen this movie SHAME ON YOU!!!
Ok that is my list of best zombie films you can disagree but i personally really enjoy them i hope you do too.
