Edgar Wright, you cheeky bastard!
I made a blood oath last month when I wrote up about Edgar Wright posting the first produced image from his latest work, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, that I would continue to cover this movie until its damn dvd release. Well, I intend to continue to keep that promise.
Universal Studios (the company, not the theme park) unleashed a berth of photos from their upcoming slate of films for the year of 2010. Two of them, happen to be of Scott Pilgrim vs The World. The first photo (at the top of the page) is a high res image of the one that Wright released on his blog, the second one, is much more tantalizing.
This photo depicts Scott with a fire sword, a guy doing a back flip, in a club with Ramona and the leader of Ramona’s Evil Ex Boyfriends, Gideon, looking on from above.
This photo is just.. wonderful. It’s also something ENTEIRLY NEW to fans of the book, as the movie is encompassing all 6 volumes of the comic, but since volume 6 isn’t even done yet, this is the first peak of ANYTHING from the final chapter of the comic series. (It should be noted that creator Brian Lee O’Malley stated that the end of the film isn’t going to be exactly the same as the book.) Very, very exciting stuff indeed.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World currently is set for release in the UK in August, so probably some time in June or July we might finally be seeing this flick!
