UPDATE: There have been some late breaking developments since we originally reported this back on February 8th.
UPDATE 2: According to Sony, Logan Lerman is apparently NOT EVEN IN THE RUNNING for Spidey! From the quote Mike Flemming got:
“Were very definitive in denying the story, and were sure that Lerman was 100% not going to be Spidey and that he is not on the list of candidates being seriously considered.
So, there you go. The search continues

UPDATE: Seems that HitFix has confirmed that Logan Lerman is almost %100 locked to play Peter Parker 2.0 in the Spider-Man reboot. The new film will be directed by 500 Days of Summer’s Marc Webb (ironic name) and scripted by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Losers). Logan is 18 years old, but looks a hell of a lot younger than that. I didn’t see Percy Jackson, but I heard that he was decent in it. I honestly don’t think casting is the big deal to me in this reboot, more than what they’re doing with the property. I’m not the biggest Ultimate Spider-Man fan, and with a smaller budget of $80 mill, seems Sony is trying to invest low and score high. Which is what will probably happen, but at what cost?
Rumors have been circulating the net this past week that Percy Jackson star, Logan Lerman was possibly in talks to play Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot (being directed by Marc Webb). Well Access Hollywood is now reporting that those rumors are in fact true. Apparently Logan Lerman is in early talks to possibly take on the role of Peter Parker claims Access Hollywood. In an interview with the television news show Lerman said:
“There have been a few discussions, it’s definitely something I’m looking into. It’s one of my favorite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series. I’d love to have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it” said Lerman to the entertainment news show.
“conversations are starting. It’s a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it’s definitely a project that I’m really interested in, of course”
Unlike Access Hollywood that Heat Vision actually contacted Sony to get a reply from someone regarding this. Apparently Heat Vision is working with someone more powerful than Billy Bush. Heat Vision was able to find out from the source (SONY):
“No offers have been made, nor have any business discussions been made with Lerman”. Right now the studio is compiling a list of candidates, Lerman IS on that list

Thanks for the information, it was really hard to find it.
