Honest Abe, Honestly kicks vampire booty!
As we all know Abraham Lincoln was the 15th President of the United States, and also was in office during the bloodiest confrontation on American soil. Yet many do not know that this great Civil War, was the result of two legions of Vampires. This is the story that is told in Seth Grahame-Smith’s latest book.
The book is well written with many historical accuracy’s interwoven with fiction. As the reader we find many details about Lincoln’s childhood and how vampires were the cause of his beloved mothers death. To start this book is very deep with many interesting plot twist’s that might cause one to put the book down and read something a bit easier to digest. This reader on the the other had is both a horror fan and a history major.
The novel delves head first into Lincoln myth and fact bringing about amazing revelations to honest Abe’s already interesting childhood and up bringing.Through out the novel Abe meets Edgar Allen Poe and mistakes him for a vampire due to his Gothic demeanor.
The story does ramble a bit but that does not mean that the reading is not worth it. I guarantee anyone who was a fan of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, will find this book easier to read. It flows nicely and is never a dull moment.
