So long Rex, hello….
Aly San San? Apparently so. After various hits were dropped at Celebration V, including the reveal of a new star speeder that had a female voice, this little nugget shows up at of all places: A pin trade show. See Disney was holding a trading pin gathering at Epcot called Trade City. At the show, a set for a line called Disney Robots was on display. It features the R2 unit with Mickey ears, Wall E, and one robot that seemed a little out of place at first glance. Upon further inspection, the name Aly San San is listed with it, and the origin being from the upcoming Star Tours 2011 relaunch.
So dose this mean that this is the new pilot for the Star Cruiser that will take the general public to (god willing) Endor finally? That’s not been confirmed, but it seems that way. It’s a little melancholy to know that we will probably be losing Rex, the scrappy pilot from the first Star Tours ride, who was always on his first day. Ce la Vi.
