This comeback is happening a lot faster than anticipated.
It was revealed some time ago that the dynamic duo of Beavis and Butt-head would return to the airwaves in new animated adventures on MTV. Essentially new episodes of the old show, creator Mike Judge has promised the low-fi production style would remain intact.
However, we now know – thanks to Slash Film – that the lords of lowbrow living will kick off their comeback with an animated short at the beginning of Jackass 3D, opening this Friday the 15th. The boys appear in 3D – mocking the medium, no less – in a process that retains their 2D roots. How appropriate that the Jackass crew – always seen by this writer as low-rent, live-action copycats of Highland High’s high priests of horrendous humor – would pay their respects via this short film.
With this and Weezer’s association with the flick, I just might have to see this movie after all.
