If so? Which villian?
Chris Nolan is now ball deep in pre production for his last Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. While some are still trying to get their head around the title, we know a few things. It’s not going to be in 3D. Tom Hardy is in the cast. And apparently, we’re in for something of a grand scale, even bigger than The Dark Knight. What? We’ll have to wait and see. What we do know now, since Nolan and co killed off the Rachel Dawes in the last film, making the current cast a giant sausage fest. Fear not. Nolan has plans and he’s got a list of leading ladies for them.
Deadline got word that the director will be meeting with a batch of Hollywood’s finest female talent for two roles. One for Bruce’s new love interest, the other, a villain? Nothing has been confirmed on the script side, but many a sign are pointing to possibly Catwoman, with Talia Al Gul coming in a close second. The ladies in question?
Rachael Weisz
Naomi Watts
Blake Lively
Natalie Portman
Anne Hathaway
Kira Knightley
An impressive list if I must say so my self. Each of of these women are great on their own, and in a Nolan film, they could knock something grand out of the ballpark. That’s on first glance. On closer inspection, we have the following: Blake Lively is already the female lead in Green Lantern, and I think Warners would nix that idea. Natalie Portman is set up in Thor, but then again, that didn’t stop Ryan Reynolds from donning two roles. All of the others though, sans Hathaway, who doesn’t feel like a good fit for the film, are all prime choices. What say you?
