I have a tear in my eye.
Suit acting. Much live voice acting, is a form of acting that is severely looked over by many people. Growing up on Godzilla and other Toho films, I learned to appreciate suit actors early on. Sure, you can have a cool looking monster suit or make up, but it doesn’t mean shit unless the actor inside gives it life. So, it brings me much joy to know that I’m not alone in my fondness for suit acting, and that someone is finally shinning the spotlight on these wonderful men and women who bring to life the monsters in our movies.
The documentary group Wyrd has taken it upon themselves to bring forth a documentary about suit acting, appropriately called: Men in Suits. Featuring Doug Jones, Guillermo Del Toro, Tom Woodruff Jr, August Ragone and many more. The doc is still being filmed, as the guys are headed to Japan to talk to the legends over there. The film is due for a late 2011 release, but today, the teaser trailer is up.
Nothing but pure love. Be sure to check out their site for more.
