Quite interesting indeed.
I’ve said for the last year that this new Spider-Man movie by Mark Webb feels like a weird dream. It seems like it’s leaped out of an alternate dimension and crossed into the realm of the Raimi movies. But, fever dream or not, this film is really happening. We’ve seen the lovely Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy already, but what about the star Andrew Garfield? How’s he gonna look as Spidey? Wonder no more.
Aintitcool got this hi res image of Garfield, sans mask, in his Spider-Man suit.

I kinda dig it. It’s clearly a deviation of the original outfit, as you’ll notice the extended spider on the chest, and the weird little flame like designs on the gloves. But Garfield seems to be a better built Spider-Man in that outfit than Toby Maguire’s buff/pudgy Spider-Man. I’m not mad at the deviations as well, this is more a weird amalgam of the Ultimate story line and the regular Marvel Universe Spider-Man, and we got three films worth of the classic costume. No harm no foul.
The real question is can Mark Webb and Andrew Garfield bring Spider-Man to life like Raimi and Maguire did? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
