Christopher Nolan loves working with the same group of people. When he’s found an actor he grooves with, he keeps them close. Like a card player, just waiting to put that Ace o Spades down to fuck someones couch and blow everyone else away. Michael Cain, Christian Bale, Ken Wanatabe, now Tom Hardy and….. Joseph Gordon- Levitt.
Yes, the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun has fashioned a nice career for himself since those days on TV. Most recently, he fought a Zero-G battle inside of the land of dreams in Inception. Now it looks like he’ll be dealing with the Dark Knight. While this isn’t brand new news (Sam reported on it back in JULY!), it’s the first confirmation of his involvement in the film we’ve heard so far. According to Deadline, Levitt is in talks to join the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. As who? That’s up in the air at the moment. The consensus is that Levitt might be playing the part that many thought Tom Hardy would of played before it was revealed he would be Bane. That of one Dr. Hugo Strange. But that’s just here say at the moment.
I say this bodes well for the Dark Knight Rises. Nolan is finishing up his epic Batman story with a strong cast, (well, my thoughts on Hathaway as Catwoman are still up in the air) and adding a talented bastard like Levitt can only make things better. After all, the man is Cobra Commander.
