Oh, bless you Robocop!
There are a few things I love more than my own family in life. Shrimp. Long car rides down PCH. Casket aged scotch, and Robocop. Goddamn it do I love Robocop. Some people write off the film as a pop piece of entertainment, but it’s brilliant. Utterly brilliant. One of the reasons it’s brilliant. Peter Weller. Alex Murphy himself. The man is a great actor and has a voice that could woo a T-Rex to sleep.
Now, if you haven’t heard, the people of Detroit have taken to a grass roots campaign to build a statue of Robocop in their fare city. The idea was tweeted to the Mayor, who promptly shot it down. Money was raised independently by those who feel that the city needs a Robocop statue. But what about the man himself? In this exclusive interview with Funny Or Die, Peter Weller, Robocop himself, has his voice heard about the whole situation.
