Seth Green: corporate shill.
Hey, everybody in the entertainment industry had to take some dirty jobs now and then, early in their career. You gotta work your way up in Hollywood. Especially if you’re a short, ginger toy nerd. Yahoo! News posted this story today about Seth Green’s appearances in a series of commercials for Souteastern-area burger chain Rally’s (also known as Snapp’s in some areas) in the early 90s. Check out this one from 1991:
Apparently, this series of commercials – particularly Green’s character’s catch phrase of “Cha-ching!” – was a big deal in that area back then. Think “Where’s the beef?”, only more localized. The 1991 New Orleans Saints even made it their rallying cry, and it took them to the playoffs. Green, still pretty much unknown then (remember, this was well before Austin Powers or Buffy), was even invited to a Saints playoff game, and given a key to the city of New Orleans. Seriously. This vintage news report has it all:
So there you go. Seth Green was a star before he was a star. Good for him. Now let’s go watch some Robot Chicken.
