DOOM, Doom, doom, doom.

Fan’s outcry no more! Nick is bringing back Invader Zim. A few months ago they released a best of DVD called Operation Doom. It was a best of, but it was one being sold by Nick themselves. (Media Blasters put out the other ones) One of the implications was that if they sold enough units, they would “consider” bringing back Zim. That was a few months ago.
Cue InvaderCon
InvaderCon, held last weekend in Atlanta, was the first gathering of Zim fans ever in the world. In attendance were the writers and voice actors. Work shops were held. Table reads of scripts never that never saw the light of day were read. Costumes were worn. The most “shocking” thing to the Nick execs were that there was a fan base to the show that they cancelled all those years ago. One was even quoted to be “overwhelmed” at the fan following the show had. They were shocked to learn a good show has fans.
Fan’s = money. So Nick is bringing back Zim. No word if creator Jhonen Vasquez is on board, or when the new air date is, but with the amount of marketing potential outside of Hot Topic, they feel the sky’s the limit.
