Sci-Fi is our bread and butter, so go ahead and take a bit of what’s to come with this new comedy.
This flick sounds pretty dang exciting. With a cast of characters that geeks everywhere will love, I have no doubt that Rock Jocks will be a smash hit with the nerd kingdom. Dig on the press releases below.
A SCI-FI COMEDY ABOUT A SECRET BAND OF MISFITS WHO SAVE THE WORLD … EVERY DAY
Rock Jocks
Sci-Fi Feature Comedy – Currently in Production.
Hollywood, CA – Scheduled for North American theatrical release in 2012, Rock Jocks stars some of the most popular names in the American pop culture scene, including Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eureka, The Guild web series), Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob), Justin Chon (Twilight series), Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and Robert Picardo (Star Trek Voyager, Stargate SG-1).
A secret band of overworked government employees spend their night shift fighting off boredom and a meddling bureaucrat hell-bent on shutting them down, while defending the world from an onslaught of asteroids. Rock Jocks is an honest, edgy and quirky comedy that offers an unorthodox glimpse into the universal truths that arise out of the basic human condition.
In Paul Seetachitt’s indie sci-fi comedy, Day plays the second-in-command leader of a band of overworked government employees with exceptional asteroid-killing satellite piloting skills. Andrew Bowen (madtv, Reno 911!) is the Captain of the band of misfits who also include Chon, Kevin Wu and Gerry Bednob (40-Year Old Virgin). Mewes and Picardo guard the top secret Asteroid Management Initiative facility, along with the ever-present alien played by Jones. Mark Woolley plays the snooping government bureaucrat, while newcomer Wu (YouTube’s superstar “KevJumba”) makes his feature film debut as one of the Rock Jocks talented pilots.
Sheri Bryant and Craig Lew are producing Seetachitt’s feature film debut through Intelligent Life Media in association with Dog & Rooster Productions and Bright Penny Productions. John Byrnes and Greg Aronowitz Executive Produce. Rock Jocks is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
Did I mention we’re also going to be doing set visit as well? Yeah, that’s how we roll. Expect a full set report soon.
