Spielberg’s returning to tv? You bet Jurassic!
Today comes the first moving images – call it a trailer, if you will – of a new television series produced by Steven Spielberg called Terra Nova. In case you haven’t heard the details yet, here’s the gist: By 2149, humans have pretty much run the Earth into the ground. In an effort to make things right, human kind pulls a “do-over”, and travels back in time 85 million years, aiming to be a better species this time around. So you have future tech mixed with dinosaurs, a tried-and-true mix – at least in the animation world (Transformers‘ Dinobots, Dinosaucers, Dino Riders, etc.). Looks like fun.
While the series has always been slated for the fall of 2011, Fox originally wanted to premiere the pilot episode this month, following their mega-hit Glee, in order to get some summer buzz going. However, the complicated and expensive effects have forced them to hold the pilot back to the fall as well. But we still get the “first look” footage now, as you can see below.
