Is Superman ditching DC for Marvel?
There’s a rumor going around Tinseltown that Smallville‘s #1 citizen may bypass Metropolis altogether, and head straight to New York. Hollywood Insider says that a source of theirs claims that Marvel has contacted Tom Welling, with the intention of chatting him up for an unspecified role in a future production. What that production might be is anybody’s guess, but Marvel is known to be considering adaptations of several key in-house titles, such as The Runaways, Dr. Strange, and others.
It would certainly be interesting for Marvel to employ Welling, whose most famous role as Kal-El ends this month, particularly after DC passed on Welling when rebooting the Superman films with Superman Returns in 2006. Of additional interest is whether Welling, having portrayed a version of a classic superhero for a decade, would be willing to step into another hero’s shoes. Apparently, the word is that he’d be up for the right project. Looks like time’s gonna tell on this one.
One final note: Welling recently lost a role in Snow White And The Huntsman to Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth. But as that role is opposite Kristen Stewart, we consider that a Kryptonite bullet dodged.

I love how you wrote this article. Seriously, you could be a professional. There is such polish and zip here. Anyway, your clear and clever writing distracted me from what I first wanted to say:
OMG I LOVE TOM WELLING!!!! Eeeeek! **Hops around in excitement!!**
