So no Will Smith
First off, let me say that I do enjoy this second wind that Quentin Tarantino has gotten. Instead of waiting a few years between projects, he seems to be amped and making films allot quicker. Kudos to him. Secondly, toss out any hope that Will Smith will be the star of his next film Django Unchained, as he apparently passed. Sad. I was kinda hoping for a team up of the two. Ce La Vie. So who to replace Smith with? Idris Elba was rumored (and would be super fucking awesome) but it appears that there is a new challenger if you will. Showbiz411 has gotten word that Jamie Foxx has been offered the lead role of Django. I like Foxx, more so Collateral than Ray, but for a guy who got his start on In Living Color, he’s got the skills. So the idea of him playing against Christoph Waltz, Sam Jackson, and apparently Leo DiCaprio, that sounds like a bad ass time.
Django Unchained,a story about escaped slave who becomes a bounty hunter, only to return to the plantation were he was held captive to free his wife, is said by many who have read the script to be brilliant, and Tarantino’s most uncomfortable work to date. I trust in who ever QT picks for the lead, as the man hasn’t steered us wrong yet.
