The planned reboot of the Universal franchise, last seen on the big screen as Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman, has reportedly found itself a new title and director!
Well kiss my grits and call me wolfie, this news just plane surprises me.
It was revealed that rather than the originally planned straight to DVD sequel, The Wolfman (released in 2010, and directed by Captain America: The First Avenger‘s Joe Johnston) would instead be receiving the reboot treatment. But hold on, there’s more!
Writer Michael Tabb has reworked the script for Universal into an original, stand-alone picture and Moviehole now exclusively report that the flick , set to be titled Werewolf, has found a director in the form of Louis Morneau. Casting is also expected to begin soon.
Morneau’s previous credits include Joy Ride 2 : Dead Ahead, The Hitcher II : I’ve Been Waiting, Bats and Retroactive. Yeah, this still sounds like a straight to DVD film to me. Why oh why do studios do this. Get me as an exect I say. Then we will really see fur flying!
