Cobra Strikes no more.
If you had hopes for Star Trek 2 coming out next year, dash them now. Scripting has begun on Star Trek 2, and it looks like it’ll indeed be JJ Abrams at the helm. All gravy for fans of the first film. While JJ Abrams is looking at making Star Trek 2 his follow up to Super 8, the original release date of June 29th 2012 is now neigh impossible to achieve for a film like that. Which means that Paramount has an opening and they have a film that will be ready by then. That film is G.I. Joe 2. Formally known as Cobra Strikes.
But Deadline is reporting that with new release date comes new title as well. G.I. Joe 2 is now G.I. Joe Retaliation. I kinda dig the title. Oh, also add Joseph Mazzello has joined the cast as Mouse. If the name rings a bell, it’s because he’s the kid from Jurassic Park. He’ll join The Rock, Channing Tatum, Ray Park, Ray Stevenson and more under the guidance of Jon Chu. G.I. Joe Retaliation begins filming in a few weeks.
