Looks like Marvel is going to go into the realm of the supernatural.
Word is that the script has been handed in and a shortlist of directors has been already assembled. No names as of yet, but Twitchfilm assume that the movie is on track for a 2013 release date.

Twitch has learned that Oppenheimer and Donnelly have now turned in their script and Marvel is pushing forward with the property. Marvel has drafted a short list of directors to approach on the title and is forwarding the current script to each to try and sign someone up to ‘oversee continued development’.
This film would have to be pretty epic in scope. On the one hand Dr. Strange would most likely not be for kids and the PG-13 rating would need to be pushed to the limit. Hopefully Marvel can do justice to Dr. Strange.
