Finally a convention I can wear my loincloth and pink vest to.

Apparently the battle of the Cons is coming to Southern California this Fall. In this already busy convention season we have what I would call a stand out. Why you ask? Because they said the hell with comic books and horror. They’re focusing on two things that make me go apeshit- He-Man (MOTU) and Thundercats! Yes, you read correctly… POWER-CON HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It is a two day show taking place on September 24th (Saturday) & 25th (Sunday) at the Four Points By Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport. Single day tickets are $25 and two day tickets are priced at $40. Power Con also has premium admission packages that give you a little more bang for your buck. They have the Power Package which sells for $140 and includes the following:

  • 2-day badge and program
  • POWER-CON commemorative pin
  • POWER-CON commemorative stickers
  • POWER-CON commemorative temporary tattoo
  • POWER-CON commemorative bag
  • Priority Line Privilege wrist band
  • Roast Gooble Dinner Music CD
  • POWER-CON/THUNDERCON commemorative Cereal Geek Magazine**
  • Three complimentary drink tickets for the after hours Masters Cast Mixer; must be 21 or older to use.

Also available is the Roast Gooble Package which sells for $350. This package includes all items in the Power-Package plus a coveted spot at the extremely limited seating Dinner with many of the creators appearing at the convention and a live recording of Roast Gooble Dinner.

Interesting contrast in the pricing of the packages but I do like that they have something for the average fan and then something greater for the super fans. Their guest list is also pretty damn impressive, especially if your a fan of MOTU, She-Ra or Thundercats. Check out the guest list (as posted on the official website):

The programming for the show was released yesterday and I can already tell you the stand outs for me are as follows:

  • the Matty Collector panel
  • the Four Horsemen panel
  • the Toy Masters documentary panel which will show exclusive footage from the documentary
  • the Melendy Britt (She-Ra) and Alan Oppenheimer (Skeletor) panel

Oh my Xenu, I’m getting goosebumps as I’m typing this out. That panel with the original voices of She-Ra & Skeletor alone make Sunday worth attending. Be sure to head over to the Power-Con official website to check out the programming. You can also follow the show on Twitter @ThePowerCon and “Like” them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thepowercon. There are some really great panels packed into this two day show. This one looks like it will be a memorable one especially of you’re a fan of the MOTU/ Thundercats universes. We’ll keep you posted as we find out more about Power-Con/ ThunderCon.
