Something is amiss at the Wizard World headquarters. During my scan of Twitter before bed I noticed that our friends over at NuketheFridge.com tweeted the Los Angeles Comic-Con had been cancelled. If there’s one thing you should know about us it’s that we have not been a fan of this proposed show since it’s announcement during the more favorable Anaheim Comic Con. Since that show back in April Wizard has cancelled/ pulled out of one other show taking place up north in Canada, the Central Canada Comic Con (C4). At this time we cannot yet confirm whether or not the show that was set to take place the weekend of September 24th & 25th has in fact been cancelled. There are no replies from Wizard via Twitter to our questions even though they were just on there 13 mins ago boasting about the Chicago show. There are however signs that point to yes:
- the banners for the Los Angeles Comic Con on the official Wizard World website have had the dates changed to TBA
- the “Purchase Tickets” page has had the dates removed and replaced with TBD.
- the official Facebook page for the LACC has also had the dates removed

Every single one of their other shows has dates listed and what not, but not the Los Angeles show. At the minimum that cannot be a good sign for the show. This however goes back to what we had voiced in our podcast shortly after Wizard had announced this show- Was Wizard biting off more than they could chew. Did they honestly think they were gonna be able to put together a quality show with only a handful of months to plan? We have sent off an email to the PR contact for Wizard and as soon as we hear back we’ll let you know. In the meantime it’s a good thing we have Power-Con to fill the void that weekend followed by the Long Beach Comic Con and the Comikaze Expo.
If anything I’m left wondering did Power-Con send Wizard running for the hills like one of Skeletor’s minions?
