File this in the ”We Didn’t See This Coming” Dept.
Strange, left-field news coming out of Broadway today – it seems that there’s a Back To The Future stage musical being developed, and three of that film franchise’s creators are fully involved.
Director/co-writer Robert Zemeckis, producer/co-writer Bob Gale, and score composer Alan Silvestri are currently putting their heads together to see if such a venture might work. ImageMovers, the production company under Zemeckis – who hasn’t really zeroed in on any single project since his digital studio was shut down almost two years ago – will be involved in the project as well.
And I say, why not? We all laugh at the Planet Of The Apes musical jokes on that classic Troy McClure episode of the Simpsons, but deep down inside, we all wish that had really happened. How can this be any different?
