METLIFE Super Bowl ad that is the greatest cartoon cross over ever!

It’s a childhood dream come true.

So I didn’t watch the Super Bowl.  Why?  Well, I don’t care for football, and I was busy doing other things.  Most notably, recording this weeks Podcast.  But that means I ended up missing out on some fun commercials.  Like this one for Metlife.

Normally, Metlife is just hawking insurance via Snoopy and the Peanuts gang.  But this year, they’ve enlisted the help of just about every major cartoon character from 1972 to 1984.  It’s a cornucopia of Saturday morning players, including He-Man, Voltron, Scooby Doo, Grape Ape, Adam Ant, and just about every other Hanna Barbara character that had their own series.   The spot is short, but it gets the point across, I guess.  If you’re a cartoon, consider getting some life insurance.  Couldn’t hurt most of them considering their line of work.

This totally beats out the preachy Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue special from 1990 in terms of being cool.

BTW… Can you find Waldo in this ad?
