Zombie Apocalypse…Yeah, there’s an app for that…in fact 3 apps for that!!!

Ever wonder what would actually go down or how you would survive in a world over run by the walking dead? Reading up on those survival manuals and stockpiling the food and weapons for the upcoming apocalypse? Well, there are 3 new apps to help you out on all that preparation.

The first is an app from Binary Space Games which boasts to be one of the most realistic Zombie Simulator out there. Utilizing Google Maps, this app lets you see how impending doom looks in your location.

From the Official Press Release
Zombie Outbreak Simulator lets you customize your own zombie outbreak, running on Google Maps. Watch a zombie outbreak unfold in a real world environment and alter the outbreak parameters to your liking. Do you prefer old-school slow movers, or the new fast movers? Is the population armed? How well can they shoot? Customize your own outbreak then watch the chaos unfold.

With new iOS exclusive features, you can now zoom in and out on the action to keep track of the infection as it spreads across the map! Watch from a high satellite view to get an overview of the infection, represented by green dots for civilians, red for zombies and blue for police. Or zoom right in and watch as civilians run for their lives, shoot at zombies and inevitably become infected. Keep track of the people’s only hope – local law enforcement, as they fight back against overwhelming odds.

Zombie Outbreak Simulator can be purchased for $1.99 and is available for all iOS devices. To purchase Zombie Outbreak Simulator, head over to the official iTunes Store.

Once you see how the Outbreak is going to go down around you and you pretty much have a plan of attack, the next app will be the perfect companion as you are on the run.

Though it’s not available for any mobile devices yet, Map Of The Dead.com is the perfect way to figure out what resources are around you when the crap hits the fan. Map of the Dead is an online digital service created by Doejo that utilizes Google Map technology to help you locate useful locations during the chaos of a zombie feeding frenzy. Not only does this app inform you of where the nearest useful locations are such as gun stores, convenience stores, and home improvement stores, it also informs you of the places you really need to avoid like hospitals and police stations (unless you are looting for medical supplies or weapons but you’re on your own for that!!)

The Doejo designer behind the project, Jeff Merrick said “All the data’s through Google. First, I used the places API. They have pre-set place types for things like hospitals and campgrounds. The second method is through keyword searches for things they don’t have categories for, like gun stores.”

Just type in your zip code and Map of the Dead will do the rest. Only problem is that it doesn’t point out the Liquor Stores…Yeah that’s the first place I’m hitting after Outdoor World!!!

Ok! You know how it’s going to go down and you know where to go and not to go during the actual event but now how are you going to get into practice fighting off the flesh eating ghouls? It’s not like we have any of the brain dead hordes wandering around do we? Oh wait…Disneyland Crowds during summer but killing them off isn’t too much of a bright idea. Instead I give you…
