You mean a NON Batman/Superman film?
Warner Premiere is on a damn roll. Superman vs The Elite (seen it, it’s awesome) isn’t out till June. The Dark Knight Returns is some time this fall. But it seems that work is already underway on the project AFTER THAT. This time, it’s not a Batman or Superman centric story.
In talking with the Comic Book Club, THE Batman himself, Kevin Conroy, let it slip that he had just recorded dialog for Warner Premier’s next DTV film. To quote Conroy:
“Oh I just, just last night, I recording a new animated movie…that features The Flash, it’s more about The Flash, but Batman is in it as well. It’s a Flash…Flashpoint! Flashpoint? I think it’s Flashpoint,” s
Flashpoint.
The Flash centric miniseries that was pretty much the grounds for rebooting the entire DC Universe into the NEW 52. Written by Geoff Johns, the story takes Flash (Barry Allen) into an alternate universe where there’s no Justice League, no Superman, and Batman isn’t Bruce Wayne, but his father Thomas. From there Flash has to set things right, after finding out that Reverse Flash is behind everything.
If Warner Premiere was to do a Flash centric story, this would be it. While Batman, Cyborg and a slew of other character play a part, the Flash is still front and center. It’s all good with me. The good folks at Warner Premier know what they’re doing.
No word yet on a release or anything. I expect that now that this is out of the bag, some sort of confirmation will be made after The Dark Knight Returns premiers (probably at Comic Con this summer)
