Oh and there’s a shot of Spidey in there too.
One thing that’s been bugging me about The Amazing Spider-Man, is the Lizard design. So far, of what we’ve seen, he looks like one of the Goomba’s from the Super Mario Brothers movie. I think is because A) He’s running around naked B) The producers felt that he HAD to look as much like Rhys Ifrans as possible, let the audience get “confused”. That’ s my theory anyway.
But this one lone new shot of the Lizard has boosted my spirits.

He’s in his lab coat. That might not seem like much, but to me, it’s a WORLD of difference. Just that little addition makes takes the character from generic movie mutant, to the wonderful creation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

As for the other picture, it’s another shot reminding people that Andrew Garfield is under the mask. Because he’s not wearing it in this picture. I really, really hope that Marc Webb avoided the stereotype of unmasking the hero in the climax of the film. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves with most %90 of the modern hero films is that the characters have to be “unmasked” so that the actors get more face time. It feels like a horrible cop out for some reason.
Amazing Spider-Man opens July 3rd.
