Why?
Had to figure this was coming. When Marvel announced their jumbled “Marvel Now, don’t call it a relaunch” relaunch, they proclaimed things where being shaken up. Mind you, they’ve said the same thing out of the last, oh, 8 major event’s that they’ve had (House of M, Civil War, World War Hulk, Secret Invasion, Messiah Complex, Siege, Fear It Self, and AvX) Shit’s always changing. Mind you, there was a time when a major event wouldn’t happen unless there was about a 3 year window between them. Now, it’s every 5 goddamn weeks it seems, with NEW BOOKS that come out of them. So, wash, rinse, repeat with Marvel Now. The solicitations for the Marvel Now line have come out, and include the cancellation of 9 major titles that, well, were just relaunched.
Captain America, The Mighty Thor, Incredible Hulk, Invincible Iron Man, Fantastic Four, FF, Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, and X-Men: Legacy are all ending. Mind you, FF, Fantastic Four, Uncanny X-Men, Captain America, The Mighty Thor and The Incredible Hulk WERE JUST RESET LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO! Hulk will end on issue 15! I read this book and I like it, now, I have to deal with some new bullshit number 1 relaunch, AGAIN that you KNOW is coming next year.
I expect to hear some news for all of this over the next few days at Comic Con. Until then, I’m going to go thin my pull list at my store.
