Getting over the Comic Con fatigue (and yes, I had day job work today as well), I’m finally catching up with all the other stuff that flew under the radar at Comic Con. One VERY interesting piece is what Thomas Jane showed up to Con with. Seems that man is still keen to revisit the Punisher. He was up to shoot Punisher War Zone but had to back out due to other commitments. In hindsight, I think it was for the best. While Ray Stevenson was a fine Frank Castle, there was always something about Jane’s Punisher that I liked. I own, and do watch on a fairly regular basis. The first Punisher is not with out it’s problems, but I think the world agrees, Thomas Jane was a damn good Punisher.
And he wants to dawn the Skull shirt once more. Marvel has Frank Castle in their mits again, but there are no plans for another film at this point. Thomas Jane wants to change that with this short film he made with a little known actor named Ron Perlman. If Thomas Jane really had his way with The Punisher, I think we’d finally get the gritty, violent Punisher film we’ve all wanted
