Yes, it’s an anime as well.
My mind has exploded. There’s a new, official cannon Dragon Ball Z movie on the way! It’s being over seen by creator Akira Toriyama himself. Read that: OFFICIAL. CANNON. STORY. Set between the last two chapters of the manga after Goku defeated Majin Buu. So far everyone is back, but god only knows what the film will be about or who Goku and gang will fight.
It’s been a banning week for my obsessions. Pacific Rim and Godzilla on the horizon, and perhaps my favorite anime of all time is getting a new lease on life. There really hasn’t been any new Dragon Ball, in animated form, since it came to America fully back in the early 2000′s. There was an anniversary special, and special on one of the games and a few new animated bits here and there, but nothing to the scale of a film. The animated series was made during the early 90′s and was top notch for TV animation back then. But, much like a beloved Final Fantasy chapter, people have been desperate to see a modern animated adventure from the Dragon Ball universe that was worth while. (American film not included) Seems we’re finally getting it!
