Will Ben Affleck direct JUSTICE LEAGUE?

I’ve heard stranger things.

Ben Affleck has had a great career renaissance since he decided to take the director’s chair.  The man once written off as the talentless one of the duo between himself and Matt Damon, is now receiving massive kudos for his work on films such as The Town and Gone Baby Gone.  His new film Argo is getting strong buzz and Warner Bros thinks he has the chops to direct perhaps their biggest film since the Harry Potter films.

Warners has formally offered Affleck Justice League.  The question is will he take it?  Affleck has stated that after he did Daredevil, he kinda got that superhero itch scratched.  He’s also stated that he wouldn’t direct a film he’s not in, and if you do the math, he’d have to cast himself in one of the rolls of the film.  Depending on the roster, he could play either Batman, Aquaman, a new Green Lantern, or possibly Flash (I’d think he’d make a fine Flash if you ask me.)

Personally, I don’t think he’s going to do it.  Justice League would have been something he would have done before Daredevil, but seeing his crop of films he’s been making, I think Affleck wants to stick to smaller, bit more personal films.  He has been offered both Superman and The Dark Tower previously, but turned both of those projects down.   I don’t think we’ll be seeing the day Ben Affleck makes a $100 plus million film any time soon.  I’d just rather see what the man who Kevin Smith said could play anything, even Jaws, do on his own accord.
