Oh, and Lego DC
We have been waiting with baited breath for the announcement of the next titles for the 2013 DC Animated films. Yesterday at the New York Comic Con, that announcement was made.
After The Dark Knight Returns part 2, next summer we will see Superman Unbound. The movie will adapt Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s Superman: Brainiac. We should see this around Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. The last title, the long rumored Flashpoint, was confirmed as Justice League Flashpoint. Interesting as that the series had the JLA members, but was a very Flash focused title and that it was the launch for the New 52. Gary Minreau announced we will probably see the premier of this one at next year’s San Diego Comic Con.
The announcement of Lego Batman: DC Heroes Unite, a spin off of the Lego Batman game. This is interesting as both Batman and Superman will be a part of the upcoming Lego movie. So we’ll see where this goes.
Bruce Timm announced his intentions to one day return to the Beyond Universe started by Batman Beyond one day. That right there is worth every penny if they go through with a PG13 Batman Beyond film.
Exciting times lie ahead for DC animation.
