First appearance for Jennifer Bosworth, Daniel Marks, and Gretchen McNeil at Long Beach this November 4, 2012
LONG BEACH, CA (October 16, 2012) – With less than 18 days until doors open, Long Beach Comic & Horror Con (LBCHC) today announced an impressive line-up of Young Adult authors contributing to the show this year. Jennifer Bosworth (STRUCK), Daniel Marks (VELVETEEN) and Gretchen McNeil (POSSESS, TEN) will each bring their unique take on the YA genre to an LBCHC panel at 2 pm on Sunday, November 4th and be will meet with fans on the show floor.
The must-see panel will offer an in-depth look at the current scene going on the publishing world as each author discusses their approach to YA writing and their current and upcoming release. The authors will also discuss tips for becoming a Young Adult author, and what it takes to get and stay in the genre. Immediately following the panel, the authors will be signing at on the show floor in the Mysterious Galaxy Booth.
“When I learned I was going to the Long Beach Comic Horror Con, I literally shook with excitement. And fear. Mostly fear,” joked Gretchen McNeil, author of POSSESS and TEN.
“Now that I’m attending the Long Beach Comic & Horror Con, I can die happy, even if I’m getting the life sucked out of me by Samara from ‘The Ring.’ I’ll die knowing I lived the LBCC!” added Jennifer Bosworth, author of STRUCK.
“As a fan of both comics and horror (also comic-horror), the Long Beach Comic & Horror Con couldn’t keep me away. It’s true. I broke out of my shackles,” explained Daniel Marks, author of VELVETEEN.
“It is an absolute thrill to bring this caliber of talent to the show,” said Phil Lawrence, co-founder and sales director for LBCHC. “With the heat that the Young Adult genre has experienced of late, we are so excited to have these authors to share their experience with the fans.”
Offering a weekend packed with special guests and exhibitors and engaging panels, Long Beach Comic & Horror Con will be open on Saturday, November 3 from 10:00am to 7:00pm, and from10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, November 4.
