Well, it’ll have a villan.
Warner Bros is set on that 2015 date that they announced for the Justice League movie. 2012 is over in 3 weeks, so one would think that the WB would be deep into production at the moment. Possibly getting a director on board soon for what should be a very, very large film. After all, Joss Whedon was signed 2 years out from Avenger’s release date.
Director or no director, the movie is moving forward and according to Latino Review (so take it with a grain of salt) the big bad in the script that brings the league together for the first time is: Darkseid. If this is true, we’ll have Avengers and the Justice League pretty much fighting the same guy. Thanos is pretty much DC’s Darkseid, and vice versa. Though I would always put the advantage to Darkseid as he’s a bit more fleshed out, and has been a pain in many a heroes’ side for years.
Now some people are already complaining that Warners and DC are blowing their load with Darkseid as the first villain. In the recent New 52 reboot Darkseid was the reason the League came together in the first place, and in many other League stories they’ve fought countless villains and monsters after Darkseid. So, I have no problem with them going this route. It’s a given that this film is going to do big bucks. However, much like with everything else, the internet is bitching about “what’s next” before the first thing is even delivered to them. To that, I say chill the out. Hopefully, Warner’s delivers the goods with this film. I’m quite happy that they’re not going the Marvel route, otherwise I’ll be 45 when Justice League finally hits the big screen. The world doesn’t need to be spoon feed everything, and if we’re getting spin off films for Wonder Woman and Flash, then who cares if this is their introduction to the general pop.
