If not, it’s apparently close
SPOILERS: If you wish to keep yourself fresh for the new Dragon Ball Z movie, then I’d skip this. If not, look on.
The premier screening of the new Dragon Ball Z film was held in Japan the other night. A few reviews have trickled in enjoying the movie. But the question of Goku’s new Saiyan form came up and this was the explanation given.
Thanks to Kanzenshuu for the quote:
- The new “Super Saiyan God” form is a legendary form among the Saiyans that needs the power of six pure-hearted Saiyans. “Super Saiyan God” had appeared on Planet Vegeta once before to stop evil Saiyans, but he failed due to the form’s time limit.
- Goku reaches this “Super Saiyan God” form — looking similar to the image seen on a Toei Animation office poster — surrounded by a red aura. Goku returns to his regular Super Saiyan form, but has now felt the form’s godlike power and is able to tap into it.
What’s that look like? Check out below
So if this is Goku’s new form, it’s pretty much Super Saiyan Red. I’m not complaining. I don’t need some new form, I just want more Dragon Ball Z. And I’m getting it, and I happy (and I sound drunk, because I am… on power!)
Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods opens March 30th in Japan, no release date yet here.
