It’s that time again, the return of the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention! The 2013 show had a fantastic turnout and I don’t expect this year’s convention to be anything less than amazing! Keep reading for more details!
Let’s start with the currently confirmed guest list for the event. Keep in mind, the guests are always subject to change.
Jason David Frank – Jason is best known for his role as Tommy Oliver, the Green and White Ranger, from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show. Tommy Oliver has been such a popular character, he’s appeared in about 225 episodes of the Power Rangers franchise and both feature films “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” and “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie”. Jason David Frank has more than 30 years of martial arts training that includes a black belt in American Karate.
Amy Jo Johnson – Yes, those of you who used to watch “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” for Kimberly, but claim it was because Tommy was so cool, could finally get your chance to meet her! This will be Amy’s first appearance at Lexington Comic and Toy Convention and I hope it’s a great experience for her. Since MMPR, Amy has worked on a few other TV shows like Felicity and Flashpoint. She is also an accomplished musician and currently has 2 albums under her belt. *Amy will only be appearing at a separate event on Saturday and will NOT be part of the main show.
William Shatner – The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention aims to provide total “Shatisfaction” with the addition of Captain James T. Kirk! William Shatner has one of the most illustrious and distinguished careers in the history of Hollywood and deserves every ounce of the fame. Mr. Shatner is also an author who has written books that describe…in…great detail…his experiences as Captain Kirk and co-written other novels that take place in the Star Trek universe. Let’s not forget that he was also T.J. Hooker in the TV series of the same name. William Shatner will only appear Friday and Saturday.
Melissa McBride – Perhaps best known as Carol Peletier in AMC’s “The Walking Dead”. Melissa was born in Lexington, KY so she’s the perfect addition to LexCon! She started her acting career in the 90’s with an appearance on “Matlock” and her career’s had an uphill climb ever since with other appearances on “Walker, Texas Ranger”, “Dawson’s Creek”, and a personal favorite of mine, “Profiler”. In 2007, McBride was cast by future Walking Dead showrunner, Frank Darabont, in the film adaptation of the Stephen King novel, “The Mist” and was again handpicked by Darabont for the role of Carol in “The Walking Dead”.
Some Other Guests Include:
- Nichelle Nichols – Lt. Uhura from “Star Trek”
- Lou Ferrigno – “The Incredible Hulk”, only consecutive winner of the Mr. Universe title.
- Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy – Bulk and Skull, respectively, from “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”.
- David Yost – Blue Ranger Billy from “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”.
- Veronica Taylor – best known as the voice of Ash Ketchum in the “Pokemon” TV series.
