Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures have hired newcomer Evan Daugherty to write the latest draft of Grayskull, the studio’s big-screen take on Mattel’s “Masters of the Universe” cartoon and toy line. John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) is attached to direct the adaptation.

Warner Bros. sees the big-screen version as a gritty fantasy and reimagines Prince Adam as a soldier who sets off to find his destiny, happening upon the magical world of Eternia. There, Skeletor has raised a technological army and is bent on eradicating magic.

Are you fucking kidding me? Why in the hell would Skeletor (a sorcerer mind you) have a technological army and be hell-bent on eradicating magic? Seriously?!? If he eradicates magic he would get rid of the very thing that keeps him alive being that he has NO FACE! Come on Warner Bros… COME ON! Stick to the source material guys. This could easily be turned into a Conan type 80′s franchise with a 90′s Hercules/ Xena stylized spin to it. Look at the Cartoon Network animated series that ran for a couple of seasons. That was perfect. Use that as your basis. The way you’re going Skeletor will end up actually being Trap-Jaw.
